About Us - SSKA

South-East Shotokan Karate Association UK.

is a family orientated Club specialising in Shotokan Karate. Tuition is provided by our fully insured and qualified Instructors. Japanese commands and instructions are progressively taught during the lessons thereby allowing Karate to develop not only a physical discipline, but a mental discipline too. We are affiliated to the AMA, Amateur Martial Association, now the largest martial arts association in the UK. The AMA is also active on the international scene with members and associated members from many foreign countries.

We create a friendly atmosphere in our classes for both children and adults. Our minimum entry age is four years old and there is no maximum age.

All our classes are held at the Wavelengths Leisure Centre with the exception of Thursdays when our advanced students train at the 999 Club. We also train in West London on Sundays for advanced students only.

Our fees and our lessons are at affordable prices. All our lessons last one hour although most of our advanced students train for two hours thereby allowing them a greater opportunity to learn.

All gradings are conducted at the Wavelengths Leisure Centre when the students are ready, therefore removing the need for extra travel. Extra training sessions are held before each grading to allow the students ample preparations for their grading.

All of our instructors are registered and police checked.

Our Chief Instructor is a 5th Dan JKA World Federation and an International Referee (B) JKA World Federation. He is also a past world champion in kata in 2003.
